Magház Egyesület

The Hungarian community seed bank, Magház Association, was founded in 2012 and aims to raise awareness of agricultural biodiversity and the potential of locally adapted old varieties. Magház connects people who use, maintain and share seeds and knowledge about landraces, amateur and obsolete varieties of a wide range of edible crops, such as cereals, vegetables, legumes, ornamentals, herbs and fruits.
Our main activities are: seed multiplication and exchange; collection of old cultivars and related information about their cultivation and use; webpage, social media and database management for sharing information and networking, education (workshops, online and printed material) on conservation and seed saving.
